Dokken is a melodic rock band that was extremely popular in the 1980's. The original band consisted of:

  • Don Dokken (Lead singer, backup guitar)
  • George Lynch (Lead guitar)
  • Mick Brown (Drums, percussion)
  • Jeff Pilson (Bass, backup vocals)

The band released several albums in the 1980's, and then broke apart in 1988 after recording a song (Dream Warriors)for the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movie series. Don Dokken pursued a solo career; George Lynch and Mick Brown formed "Lynch Mob" (which released two albums), and Jeff Pilson pursued solo projects. In 1994 the original band members reformed Dokken and released several albums before George Lynch left the band in 1997; Jeff Pilson departed in 2001. As of 2004, Dokken still tours with new bass and lead guitar musicians. Lynch and Pilson recorded an album together in 2003 that garnered rave reviews.

I have seen Dokken several times; the first time was during the 1987 Aerosmith tour in Hampton Roads, VA (the Aerosmith show was broadcasted on radio). I was fortunate to see the band again in 1997 (with George Lynch in Tucson) and 1999 (with Reb Beach in Tucson). They are one of my favorite bands - the combination of the legendary guitar shredding of Lynch harmonic melodies makes great music.

Through the years I've managed to piece together tour information for the various iterations of group (Dokken, Don Dokken, George Lynch, and Lynch Mob). This web site lists all known appearances since 1978; if you know of any missing date(s) or concert information PLEASE contact me, as I have quite a few gaps to fill! I do not know of any other web site that has centralized this information for the fans.
