I've actually written this software/book twice <g>; the first iteration was a compiled HTML e-book that I created with Netobjects Fusion and then compiled with Hypermaker. I eventually hit the limit on the number of web pages that Netobjects Fusion could store inside it's internal database file before I becomes corrupted. I recreated the book from scratch using Clarion and made it a true Windows application with multiple relational database files. While this removed the 'point and click' ease of the HTML version it did allow me to capitalize on the strengths of a relational database system. I also included, for free, a database of all known concert dates from 1954 to 1977 (over 1000 shows), if an audiotape recording of the show existed (and where it could be found), and a list of all songs known to have been recorded by Elvis.

Unfortunately, a customer decided to provide their registered copy of their book to an overseas web master that decided to copy the entire content of my book to their personally owned web site, which effectively killed future sales of the book. I had originally planned on expanding the series to include vinyl records (7' and12' sizes; I have over 400 different in my collection that I had scanned and collected data on) and also sales catalogs that advertised the vinyl recordings (and are now collectible Elvis memorabilia in their own regard). Time will tell if I decide to make the time investment of not only updating the CD/CDR version of the book but also the two unfinished projects. As you might guess, it takes a LOT of time to scan, crop, and/or merge scanned image files and then create database entries for each - it has to be financially worth my time to go down that road again.
