I am a third-generation Elvis fan and have collected the recorded works of Elvis Presley since my youth. My collection concentrates primarily on his musical legacy and some autographs from the 'Elvis Circle' (yes, including his). Elvis collectors have a wide variety of reference material that cover commercially released music (CD's, Tape, Vinyl). However, information covering "import" releases is much harder to come by. Aside from 2-line references in price guide books (ex: Presleyana), one topnotch book on "import" vinyl (Jailhouse Rock) and several Internet web sites, this niche of highly dedicated collectors has been largely ignored. Import cd/vinyl releases have a limited production run (100-5000 copies), and are extremely difficult to locate. Prices are largely market-driven and vary widely. Most collectors don't know of their existence; some may know of a title or two, but are generally unaware that pressing variations exist that further determine value and desirability.

In the late 1990's I wrote a database application titled "The King's Companion". This software program received outstanding reviews in Goldmine magazine and became popular with Elvis collectors. That initial release covered roughly 300 compact disc titles. In 2000 I rewrote this database program into a compiled HTML format, and released the book as "The Hidden Works of the King". The second release of this book included 100+ vinyl titles, and also received excellent reviews. When it came time to update the book, I found out the hard way that HTML generation software had limitations - the book had become so large that I couldn't even edit the existing information, let alone add new entries!

Starting with the 2.0 release of "The Hidden Works of the King", I have reverted back to a relational database application. All of the information from earlier releases was included but the capabilities of the book were GREATLY enhanced! With an eye to the future, and recognizing that collectors have different interests (some steer clear of vinyl; some hate CD's), separate versions will be available for compact disc and vinyl based collections.

Two new products in this series are on the drawing board:

I have an extensive collection of the flyers that these companies released in the late 1980's and early 1990's that provide great insight and information on these elusive gems of the Elvis collecting world. I have scanned all of these flyers to .Jpg format, and will create a program around them for later purchase.

I also have a large collection of newspaper articles from 1969 thru 1978 that contain concert promotions and reviews. For years Elvis fans have read in various books how Elvis' performances fluctuated in quality. However, when one reads the actual concert review a different (and much more positive) story is told. I have scanned all of these clippings to .Jpg format and will create a program around them for later purchase.

Collectors from the following countries are registered users of "The Hidden Works of the King": Australia, Canada, Finland, Hong Kong, Italy, Norway, Scotland, South Australia, South Korea, Sweden, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and United States.
